Which places are covered in this package?
The tour covers Jor (Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary, Thadlaskein Lake, tea estate), Majuli (Kamalabari Satra, Auniati Satra, Samaguri Satra, Mishing villages), Kaziranga National Park (Kohora/Bagori ranges, Orchid Park), and Guwahati (Kamakhya Temple, Umananda Temple, Navha Temple, Basistha Ashram, Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra).

How do we reach Majuli and is the ferry safe?
Majuli is reached via a public ferry from Nimati Ghat near Jorhat, taking about 1–1.5 hours across the Brahmaputra. The ferries are operated by the Assam government and are generally safe, though services may be suspended during high floods or strong winds. Ferry tickets are included in this package.
What is the best time to visit Majuli and Kaziranga together?
November to April is ideal – Kaziranga remains open, the is pleasant, and Majuli is at its scenic best. February is especially rewarding with theh Bihu festivities and Majuli'sas Mahotsav season; note that Kaziranga closes from May to October due to monsoon flooding.
Are Kaziranga safaris included in the package price?
Safari charges are not included as rates are fixed by the Assam Forest Department. Jeep saf typically cost ₹3,500–₹6,500 per vehicle entry fees, and elephant safaris around1,000–₹1,500 per person. We assist with advance online bookings on request, as safaris sell out quickly in peak season.
Can we see rhinos and tigers in Kaziranga?
Kaziranga hosts two-thirds of the world's One-Horned Rhoceros population, so rhino sightings are very likely. It also has one of the highest densities of Royal Bengal Tigers in India, though tiger sightings depend on luck, season, and timing. Early morning winter safaris offer the best chances.

Majuli is the world's largest inhabited river island and the cultural heartland of Assamese Neo-Vaishnavism. It is famous for its ancient Satras (monasteries) founded by Srimanta Sankardeva's disciples, traditional mask-making at Samaguri Satra, Mishing tribal culture, handloom weaving, and unique riverine pottery traditions.

Kaziranga (Kohora gate) is approximately 95 km from Jorhat (2.5–3 hours) and about 200 km from Guwahati (4–5 hours) via well-connected national highways passing through scenic tea gardens and Assamese countryside.
What should we pack for this Assam trip?

Jorhat
Jorhat Tour Packages: Complete Travel Guide, Tea Tourism & Places to Visit
Welcome to Jorhat — the "Tea Capital of the World" and Assam's elegant cultural heartland on the south bank of the Brahmaputra. Ringed by over a hundred heritage tea estates, colonial bungalows, and centuries-old Vaishnavite satras, Jorhat is also the gateway to Majuli, the world's largest river island, and the Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary — home to India's only ape. Whether you're searching for jorhat tour packages, planning a jorhat to majuli tour package, or dreaming of a heritage tea garden stay, this complete guide covers everything you need to plan the perfect Central Assam escape.
Why Visit Jorhat?
Jorhat offers Assam's most refined blend of heritage, culture, and nature — morning tea-tasting sessions in colonial bungalows, the historic Gymkhana Club (Asia's oldest), the sacred Dhekiakhowa Bornamghar, and the world's only sanctuary where seven primate species, including the hoolock gibbon, thrive together. Its ferry crossing from Nimati Ghat unlocks Majuli's satras and mask-making villages, while Kaziranga's rhinos lie just 90 minutes away. Culture seekers, wildlife lovers, tea enthusiasts, and slow travellers alike adore it — especially those browsing a kaziranga to jorhat tour package for the complete Central Assam circuit.
Best Time to Visit Jorhat
Wondering about the best time to visit Jorhat? Here's a quick seasonal breakdown:
- November to April (Winter–Spring): The prime season — cool, dry weather perfect for tea estate walks, Majuli ferry crossings, and gibbon tracking.
- May to June (Early Summer): Warm days; tea estates at their greenest before the rains intensify.
- July to October (Monsoon–Autumn): Lush and dramatic, but the Brahmaputra swells and Majuli ferry services can be disrupted. Note that Kaziranga National Park remains closed during this period.
Tip: Visit between November and March for the best mix of sightseeing, tea experiences, and island excursions — with February's Majuli Raas Mahotsav and the Bihu festivals being cultural highlights.

Must-Do Experiences in Jorhat
Tea Tourism – The Tea Capital of the World
Jorhat is the beating heart of Assam's tea country, producing some of the world's finest Orthodox teas amid estates dating to the 1850s. The signature experience is a stay in a colonial tea bungalow — high ceilings, planter's chairs, butler service, and lawns rolling into endless green — paired with factory tours and expert tastings. Travellers seeking this heritage experience can book a tea garden stay in jorhat as part of a heritage tea estate bungalow tour of 1–2 nights.
Crossing to Majuli – The World's Largest River Island
Just a short ferry from Nimati Ghat lies Majuli — the world's largest inhabited river island and the cradle of Assam's neo-Vaishnavite culture. The 15th-century satras of Srimanta Sankardeva's tradition, Samaguri's famous mask-makers, pottery villages, and Mishing tribal hamlets make a jorhat to majuli tour package unforgettable. Travellers can book a Majuli island day excursion from Jorhat or stay overnight on the island for sunrise over the Brahmaputra.
Tracking India's Only Ape – Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary
Just 20 km from Jorhat lies India's only sanctuary dedicated to the western hoolock gibbon — the country's sole ape species — living alongside seven other primates, including the Bengal slow loris and capped langur. Guided forest walks at dawn offer excellent chances of watching gibbons swing through the hollong canopy. Book a hoollongapar gibbon wildlife sanctuary tour with a naturalist-led Hoollongapar gibbon safari for the best sightings.

Why Visit Kaziranga?
Kaziranga offers the finest wildlife experience in Asia — dense populations of the greater one-horned rhinoceros, one of the highest densities of tigers in India, wild Asiatic water buffalo, and hoolock gibbons, all set against a backdrop of tall elephant grass, marshlands, and the Brahmaputra river. Best Time to Visit Kaziranga National Park
Wondering about the best time to visit Kaziranga National Park? Here's a quick seasonal breakdown:

- March to April (Spring): Warm days with excellent sightings before the heat; vegetation begins thickening.
- May to October (Monsoon & Closure): The park remains closed as the Brahmaputra floods its grasslands; heavy rains make safaris impossible.

Guwahati
Guwahati: The Gateway to the Northeast
Almost every North East India journey begins here, and most travellers make the same mistake — they treat Guwahati as an airport with a hotel attached, landing at night and leaving for Shillong or Kaziranga by morning.
Give it two days instead.
Assam's largest city sprawls along the south bank of the Brahmaputra, a river so vast here that in the monsoon the far shore simply disappears into haze. Guwahati is old — mentioned in the epics as Pragjyotishpura, the City of Eastern Light — and it wears that age lightly, in hilltop shrines, a river full of islands, and a market culture that starts before dawn. It is also the region's practical hub: the busiest airport in the Northeast, its main railhead, and the point from which nearly every itinerary radiates.
